The State of the World’s Forests 2020 report indicates that 420 million hectares of forest have disappeared since 1990. Sustainable building practices are essential, as replacing non-renewable materials with wood can reduce carbon emissions by 14%-31% and fossil fuel consumption by 12%-19%.
